The expertise of the Solar Fuels Lab lies in developing catalytic systems for hydrogen gas production from water splitting, and the reduction of carbon dioxide to fuels and chemical feedstocks. Our work spans from fundamental research on basic properties of the catalysts to developing prototype systems.

Headspace-Gas Chromatography System

Coupling a gas chromatography (GC) system with a headspace sampler enables the detection of liquid products obtained from experiments. The main products to be analysed by this system are alcohols, aldehydes and ketones. This equipment makes the analysis step much easier and faster with its automated injection system. Coupling with a high-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC) system also ensures all the liquid products obtained from the electroreduction of carbon dioxide can be fully analysed.
