Multicrystalline Silicon Wafer Solar Cell Group


The Multicrystalline Silicon Wafer Solar Cell Group focuses on improvements of the efficiency and the manufacturing costs ($/W) of multicrystalline silicon wafer solar cells by utilizing high-throughput, high-yield industrial equipment and manufacturing steps. The R&D activities range from the improvement of existing processes to the development of new industrially feasible processing steps. Present focus areas include wet-chemical processes (for example using SERIS-patented industrial cleaning and etching steps), dry and wet etching for reduced front surface reflectance, bulk material impurity analysis, tailoring of diffused emitters, optimisation of screen-printed metallisation, and improved surface passivation.
