Multicrystalline Silicon Wafer Solar Cell Group


The Multicrystalline Silicon Wafer Solar Cell Group focuses on improving the efficiency and manufacturing costs ($/W) of multicrystalline silicon (multi-Si) wafer solar cells by utilising highthroughput, high-yield industrial equipment and manufacturing steps. The R&D activities include the development of new industrially feasible wet-chemical processes (for example texturing of diamond-wire sawn (DWS) multi-Si wafers and emitter etch-back processes), bulk material impurity analysis, mitigating light and elevated temperature induced degradation (LeTID), impurity gettering, next-generation metallisation schemes, and advanced solar cell structures.
