Silicon Materials and Cells Cluster

Solar cells made from crystalline silicon wafers dominate the international PV markets and most experts believe that this will not change in the foreseeable future. Thus, continuous improvements of the efficiency, manufacturing cost, manufacturability and long-term reliability of silicon solar cells are required to further lower the levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) from PV systems. SERIS’ silicon solar cell programme covers multicrystalline and monocrystalline wafers, as well as the full range of industrially relevant device architectures, including both homojunction and heterojunction technologies.
