Silicon Materials and Cells Cluster

Solar cells made from silicon wafers dominate the global PV market and most experts believe that this will not change in the foreseeable future. To further reduce the cost of PV electricity, continuous improvements with respect to the efficiency, manufacturing cost, manufacturability and reliability of silicon wafer based solar cells are required. SERIS’ silicon solar cell programme covers multicrystalline and monocrystalline wafers, as well as the full range of industrially relevant device architectures, including both homojunction and heterojunction technologies.
